Organ sharing program: Balancing bodily sovereignty with social needs
Posted by the Director of Body Sovereignty Commission
Our national health system proves that you don’t have to choose between being wealthy and healthy. Since announcing fully autonomous nighttime blood testing we have worked with our community to ensure we do everything that’s in our power to create a healthy and prosperous society.
Our nation is built on choice. That is why we’ve developed the organ sharing program - a way to balance the inherent needs of individuals with the bodily autonomy we all value so highly.
Starting April 1st, all citizens will be required to fill out ORGAN-1 form specifying which organs they would like to keep and which ones they are happy to share with their fellow citizens. Filling out the form is a one-time process and after a series of community consultations we settled on a form which lets individuals specify up to 3 organs they want to opt out of the sharing program (only one organ of each kind can appear on the list).
After signing the form you will not have to do anything else. As every other service provided by our department, we will make sure everything is taken care of. For example, the kidney extraction program will happen overnight, after applying a series of anaesthetics and memory-loss agents. You will wake up in the morning, fully refreshed, with a thank you note written on behalf of the lucky person who is going to receive your kidney (it will be written in the native language of the recipient to ensure authenticity and maximise the emotional impact of the note).
We sincerely hope you will love this program - we know that the overall utility experienced by our society will increase by 17% thanks to this program but we hope you are among the ones who benefit from it personally.
Yours sincerely, The Director
